This discussion will focus on coverage afforded under the standard general liability policy for construction defects including insuring clause requirements and typical policy conditions. The focus will be on common exclusions to coverage and proof requirements, in addition to coverage analysis of latent defects which includes analysis of which policies are triggered by defects resulting in long-term damage. Differences between property policies, professional liability policies, and general liability coverage will also be discussed.
Patrick is a partner with Faegre & Benson LLP in its Minneapolis, Minnesota
office. His practice focuses on construction, suretyship and insurance. Patrick
also acts as a mediator, arbitrator and expert witness in construction disputes.
He works closely with a number of industry organizations on Building Information
